Partial-year capacity

The first and final years rarely deserve a full annual deduction

The calculator counts real included weekdays for every year segment. It then prorates annual allowances using that segment's share of the full-year scheduled workday count.

This is more defensible than subtracting a full holiday or leave allowance from a partial final year. Deductions are also capped so net workdays cannot become negative.

Is the retirement date counted as a workday?

No. It is treated as the first non-working day; the interval ends immediately before it.

How are partial years handled?

Annual allowances are prorated by the share of that year's scheduled weekdays included in the countdown.

Can deductions overlap?

The model assumes separate categories; if a holiday and shutdown overlap, adjust the entered totals to avoid double counting.

Why are work-week equivalents different from calendar weeks?

They divide net workdays by scheduled days per week and exclude modeled unavailability.
