Scale the recipe without ignoring the kitchen process

Food and cooking calculators scale recipes, convert ingredients, plan servings, estimate portions, and summarise nutritional quantities. They begin with the original recipe yield and the amount of finished food required.

Ingredient weight and volume are not universally interchangeable because density differs. Pan size, cooking time, evaporation, trim loss, temperature, and food-safety requirements may also need adjustment when a batch changes substantially.

Scale ingredient quantities from the original yield, but review process quantities separately. Doubling dough mass, for example, does not automatically double proofing time, oven capacity, or heat transfer.

Directory guide

How to choose a food calculator

Choose servings or batch size Recipe scaling should begin with the original yield and the desired number of portions or finished quantity.
Distinguish weight from volume Ingredient density means cups, millilitres, grams, and ounces cannot always be exchanged with one universal factor.
Check practical kitchen constraints Pan size, cooking time, temperature, losses, and food-safety requirements may not scale linearly.
