How the calculation works

Define one complete work-off rotation, repeat it for the entered count, and retain scheduled, overtime-reference, calendar, training, and leave-adjusted quantities separately. Add work and off days for one cycle, calculate cycle hours and threshold excess, multiply by complete rotations, then deduct entered leave days.

Expand one work-off cycle into a complete rotation plan

The defaults repeat a four-on/four-off cycle 13 times, using 12-hour shifts, 2 training hours per cycle, a 40-hour threshold, and 3 leave days.

General formula: C = W+O; H_c = Wh+T; H_ot = max(H_c-H_lim,0); D = nC; H = nH_c; H_adj = max(H-Lh,0) One cycle is the reusable planning block. Calendar days, scheduled hours, and threshold excess are calculated once, then multiplied by the number of complete rotations; leave removes shift hours afterward.

Worked substitution with the default inputs

1. Define one calendar cycle: C = 4 work days + 4 off days = 8 days/rotation Work and rest blocks together determine elapsed calendar time.
2. Calculate cycle hours: H_c = 4*12 + 2 = 50 hours/rotation Training is added once per rotation to shift hours.
3. Calculate the overtime reference: H_ot = max(50 - 40,0) = 10 hours/rotation This is only an entered-threshold comparison, not a payroll ruling.
4. Expand the full schedule: D = 13*8 = 104 days; H = 13*50 = 650 hours; work days = 13*4 = 52 The Gantt view repeats exactly 13 complete cycles.
