The model builds raw weekly slot supply, removes the expected blocked fraction, and independently computes how many dates the rest-gap rule could fit. The smaller number is effective capacity, compared with target demand after committed dates.

Default substitution: R = 16(1+1) = 32 raw slots; U = floor(32×0.75) = 24. K = floor(112/(3+1)) = 28, so E = min(24,28) = 24; M = 18−4 = 14 and buffer Z = 10 slots.

- Count only recurring weekday and weekend opportunities that both calendars can plausibly share.
- Estimate the blocked percentage from representative prior weeks and known future constraints.
- Set a recovery interval that reflects energy, care, travel, and other commitments.
- Remove already committed dates from the target, not from future candidate supply.
- Use the capacity buffer to book exact dates collaboratively and preserve alternatives for cancellations.

When spacing capacity is smaller, adding candidate evenings does not help unless the rest rule or horizon changes.
Correlation risk
Blocked events often cluster during exams, travel, illness, or peak work. A single percentage can hide a completely unavailable month.

Estimate conflicts from matched calendars, not optimism
Review both calendars, caregiving schedules, shift patterns, recurring appointments, travel, accessibility needs, canceled dates, and preferred recovery intervals. Preserve which weeks were sampled to estimate the blocked share.

- Rest spacing is simplified to one fixed number of days.

A capacity result never obligates either partner
Every booking remains optional and revisable. If scheduling becomes coercive, unsafe, or a source of monitoring and control, stop using the target and seek appropriate support.
