Calculation method

How the calculation works

Estimate resting energy from metabolic body weight, apply an entered life-stage factor, reserve treat calories, and convert food energy to grams. Calculate resting energy as 70 times body weight in kilograms raised to 0.75, multiply by the entered maintenance factor, reserve the treat percentage, and divide remaining calories by food kcal per kilogram.
