Understanding Circuit Training Work-Rest Calculator

Circuit duration is often understated because station transitions disappear from the plan. Work bouts, within-round movement, between-round recovery, warm-up, and cool-down are operationally different and should be counted separately.

The default circuit uses eight stations, four rounds, 45 seconds work, 15 seconds transition, and 90 seconds between rounds.

Worked substitution with the default inputs

Frequently asked questions

Why not count eight transitions for eight stations?

This model ends the round at the final station and assigns the longer round rest before the next start.

Does warm-up affect duty cycle?

No. Duty cycle describes only the circuit block; complete session duration includes warm-up and cool-down.

Can transition be zero?

Yes for an immediate stationary exercise change, though real group logistics often require time.
