It does not calculate or update an official Handicap Index, apply exceptional-score reductions, soft or hard caps, handicap allowances, or Committee adjustments. Why is 113 in the formula?
Under the World Handicap System, 113 represents the Slope Rating of a course of standard relative difficulty.
Can the differential be negative?
Yes. A score better than the adjusted Course Rating can produce a negative differential.
Is the Course Handicap the same as the Handicap Index?
No. Course Handicap adjusts the index for the tees’ Slope Rating and the Course Rating–par difference.
