How the calculation works

Keep race load, entered fluid-loss estimate, nutrition multipliers, sleep opportunity, and easy-movement plan as separate recovery references. The fluid-per-hour reference uses a strictly positive race duration and leaves nutrition, sleep, and movement separate. Normalize race time by distance, scale entered fluid loss by a replacement factor, multiply body mass by nutrition targets, and accumulate sleep and easy movement across recovery nights.

The default plan covers a 21.0975 km race in 110 minutes for a 72 kg athlete, with 1.8 L estimated fluid loss and three recovery nights.
