How the calculation works

Use the heart-rate-reserve method to calculate five intensity bands from the entered resting and maximum rates, while retaining the observed threshold rate as a separate reference. The page does not invent a weekly time distribution. Subtract resting heart rate from maximum heart rate, multiply that reserve by each boundary percentage, add resting heart rate back, and position the entered threshold within the same reserve scale.
