Use steps
- Measure usable bed length, excluding work zones.
- Use harvested producing-plant yield.
- Include sanitation and reset time between crops.
Examples
Closer spacing: test 32 cm only if canopy and airflow remain acceptable.
Long crop: extend cycle days to reflect a winter light period.
Limitations
Uniform plants and cycles are assumed. The model omits staggered harvests, light, temperature, disease, crop changes, labor bottlenecks, aisle changes, and partial final cycles.
Greenhouse yield FAQ
Why use floor area for intensity?
It reflects the whole greenhouse footprint, including aisles and service space.
Are partial cycles counted?
The annualized result uses a fractional frequency; the table shows only completed cycles.
Why separate survival and packout?
Survival removes plants; packout removes harvested product that cannot be sold.
