Rice Input Rate Calculator
Convert rice-area, stand, germination, purity, establishment, nitrogen, fertilizer analysis, irrigation depth, and efficiency into field input quantities.
Paddy input planning
Convert target stand, seed quality, nitrogen analysis, and irrigation efficiency into field quantities
Seed, fertilizer product, and irrigation water use different denominators. This calculator keeps each conversion explicit.Input pathway
Seed viability, nutrient concentration, and water-efficiency gates
Three independent lanes show why each delivered quantity must exceed the agronomic amount retained in the field.Detailed calculation process
Divide the field target by the fraction that survives each delivery gate
General symbolic formulas
PLS = g × pS = T × 10,000 / (c × PLS × e)Stotal = ASF = N / aFtotal = AFW = A × d × 10 / ηTen thousand square metres per hectare converts the stand target to plants per hectare. Germination, purity, and field establishment reduce the fraction of planted seed that becomes an established plant.

Rice input material ledger
| Input | Field target | Delivery adjustment | Required rate | Total quantity |

Use steps
- Use a current laboratory germination and seed purity result.
- Estimate field establishment for the actual seeding method and conditions.
- Enter nutrient analysis from the fertilizer label and net crop water depth.
Practical examples
Broadcast seeding: lower establishment to reflect field losses.
Alternative fertilizer: change analysis from 46% N to the label value.
Limitations
This planning model does not prescribe agronomic targets. It omits nutrient credits, split timing, soil tests, salinity, rainfall, seepage, percolation, tailwater reuse, field leveling, seed treatment, and equipment calibration.
Rice input-rate FAQ
Why multiply germination by purity?
Only seed that is both seed of the stated crop and viable contributes to pure live seed.
Why divide water by efficiency?
The delivery system must supply more than the net field requirement when conveyance or application losses occur.
Does fertilizer product rate equal nitrogen rate?
Only for 100% nitrogen material; product rate is nitrogen target divided by label nitrogen fraction.
