The completion rate must come from comparable prior scheduled calls. A positive horizon margin means modeled capacity exceeds the target; it does not guarantee every future session occurs.

Conversions and rounding: Minutes are divided by 60; completion percent is divided by 100. Required sessions and active weeks are rounded upward only after unrounded division.

    RESULT INTERPRETATION

    Separate required sessions, completion week, and horizon margin

    The milestone week combines three different ideas: effective hours per scheduled session, the whole number of sessions still required, and the weekly booking pace after setup. Review each layer before trusting the calendar result.

    Positive horizon margin

    A positive margin means the entered session pace and completion rate produce more modeled live hours than the target by the horizon. It is planning capacity, not guaranteed contact.

    Zero or negative margin

    A zero margin leaves no modeled buffer; a negative margin exposes the shortfall in hours. Increase feasible frequency, extend the horizon, or revise the goal rather than rounding the shortfall away.

    Large session count

    A high required count often reflects short sessions, a low completion rate, or little current progress. The count identifies the controlling assumption but does not require either person to accept that schedule.

    Use the milestone as a capacity check, not a relationship deadline

    The relevant decision is whether the entered recurring schedule can plausibly deliver the target live hours within the chosen horizon while respecting both people’s local boundaries.

    Comparable completion evidence

    Estimate completion rate from calls with similar duration, time of day, and scheduling discipline. Mixing casual messages with scheduled calls inflates the effective-session estimate.

    Whole-session booking

    Because a fractional remaining session cannot complete the target, required sessions round upward. Verify that the resulting weekly frequency is operationally bookable.

    Calendar assumptions

    Setup weeks and weekly frequency are separate. Travel, exams, shift changes, daylight-saving transitions, and illness require an external calendar review.

    Change one input at a time and note which adjustment moves the milestone most without violating real availability.

    Completion-rate range

    Recalculate with the recent low, typical, and high completion rates. A milestone that moves sharply is reliability-sensitive and needs more schedule buffer.

    Session-duration tradeoff

    Longer sessions reduce the count only if they remain sustainable. Do not extend nominal duration when fatigue or local obligations will lower the actual completion rate.

    Frequency constraint

    Test the maximum recurring frequency both people can maintain. If the goal misses the horizon at that cap, the honest choices are more time or a different target.

    Where the timeline can drift

    Upward rounding is intentional

    A fraction of a required session is not treated as a completed session; the schedule therefore uses the next whole slot.

    Rates can be regime-specific

    A completion rate from a quiet month may not describe exam periods, seasonal work, caregiving changes, or a new offset.

    Civil-time rules can move

    IANA notes that political bodies change UTC offsets and daylight-saving rules, so the pair’s recurring local windows need periodic review.

    Keep a dated log of scheduled sessions, completions, partial-call treatment, and actual duration. Verify current UTC offsets with location-based time-zone data rather than ambiguous abbreviations. Recalculate if an operating system or calendar receives a time-zone database update.

    • The model assumes the entered average cadence and completion rate remain representative.
    • It does not model call quality, emotional presence, conflict, or unequal effort.
    • Fixed numeric UTC offsets do not automatically follow future daylight-saving changes.
    • Sessions are treated as having one nominal duration rather than a duration distribution.
    • A forecast beyond the horizon is arithmetic, not a reason to pressure either person into more calls.

    Time-zone milestone questions

    Why use a completion rate instead of subtracting missed calls?

    A proportion scales future scheduled sessions consistently when the historical period and planned cadence are comparable.

    What if completed hours already exceed the goal?

    Remaining hours and required sessions become zero, while the horizon projection still shows future capacity.

    Can sessions per week be fractional?

    Yes. For example, 1.5 represents three scheduled sessions across two weeks on average.

    Does this account for daylight saving time?

    No. Entered offsets are fixed scenario inputs; revisit them when either location’s civil-time rule changes.

    Should sleep time be counted as unavailable?

    Availability should protect sleep and other obligations. CDC guidance says adults generally need at least seven hours, but individual needs and schedules vary.

    Is a higher completion rate always better?

    Not if it comes from over-scheduling or pressure. Use the rate descriptively and choose a cadence both people can sustain.

    Why are required sessions rounded upward?

    The target is reached only after enough complete modeled sessions are scheduled. Rounding down would report a plan whose effective hours remain below the entered goal.

    Should missed calls reduce current completed hours?

    Keep completed hours as observed live time. Missed calls belong in the completion-rate evidence for future sessions, not as a retroactive subtraction from contact that already occurred.

    Can the horizon margin replace a calendar plan?

    No. It summarizes modeled hours; it does not place calls around work, study, caregiving, travel, daylight-saving changes, or sleep.

    When is the milestone result invalid?

    Treat it as invalid when offsets, availability, completion evidence, session duration, or frequency no longer represent the period being planned, or when participation is no longer voluntary.
