    Why is travel deducted per visit?

    Each meeting consumes another door-to-door journey under the repeated pattern.

    Can the buffer be zero?

    Yes, for a no-buffer baseline; a stress case can show how much resilience is missing.

    What if commitments exceed the gross window?

    The input is rejected because the itinerary would leave negative raw together-time.

    Does protected time have to be spent jointly?

    No. It is uncommitted capacity and should remain subject to both people’s preferences.
